A grilled cheese sandwich was my Friday reward when I was growing up in Queens, New York

Take a moment to acknowledge your week’s efforts with a Friday ritual.

When I was growing up in Queens, New York,  Fridays always meant three things to me, the end of the school week,  ballet class, and a gooey, buttery, grilled cheese sandwich for supper served without a mushy, canned vegetable in sight!  That sandwich marked the end of a busy week and eating it was pure bliss.

I don’t eat as many of those sandwiches as I did when I was a kid, but they are still are one of my favorite treats.  Just seeing a grilled cheese sandwich makes me smile!  It always reminds me that it is important to incorporate simple rituals into our work lives and acknowledge our efforts and time well spent.

How do you mark a week well spent?
